Registering French car with yacht address.

Does anybody have experience of registering a French car at the address of a marina based UK yacht?

Not a chance. The rules have changed in France and you can only now register a car to a French address when you're domiciled there. In practical terms this is enforced by only allowing access to the online registration service to domiciled taxpayers who have declared and proved their main residence is at their French address.
