Regina of Vindo

Looks like they have ceased production and the firm will now concentrate on winter storage only - they appear to have sold the rights to CR yachts.

Shame really as I had a 43 planned for my up coming Lotto win :(

You'll have to commission a boat from Germany. There are still quite a lot of builders building composite craft on the Schlei for those who enjoy varnishing.

I also received the press release as I was on their mailing list. I had a good look at their 43 when I was choosing our boat.

I decided on the Rustler44 as I thought it offered a bit more flexibility, and even though the people at Regina were very hospitable, as a Brit I preferred to buy British if possible.

I also visited the CR factory. They were designing a boat similar to the Regina 43. I think Stephen Jones had done drawings for them. Don't think it ever got produced.

Tough time to be a boat builder in Scandinavia.

According to the local newspaper CR Yachts plans to continue production of five Regina models 35 – 49 ft in Henån. Taking on ten new employees.

BTW, these are not composite yachts in the sense of the classic Vindös, GRP hull/wood superstructure.
