Regatta and Festival drop off points

No chance with regatta, better with festival. During regatta week every inch of river bank is occupied - your best bet would be to talk to Steve Ryan-Bell who runs all the moorings and river taxis. Be warned, it won't be free. You can't get to the regatta side of the river unless you are an established ferry in henley - Hobbs and SRB are the only people allowed to cross the racing lanes.

Festival week is much better, the best liaison points would be up by the Rowing museum. You can try over the river from the festival site, but again, SRB will be managing all that space and charges.

Steve (SRB moorings) is on 07774 701314. Good luck!!

Use the public mooring in Henley - you will either find a space or simply ask to raft while your friends board. No problem.

You won't get in the public mooring above the Angel with your draft and the Red Lion is frowned upon for some reason. Best bet is anywhere in the Park between Hobbs and Marsh lock, I think thats
where Gavi really means, we normally get in eventually you may have to hover a bit or the ask to raft up but we always get in eventually. The £50 overnight fee usually means nobody stops long :(

The Henley Standard carried a story some weeks ago about the Red Lion moorings; the Town Council had tried to bump the price up enormously and the current users (I think Hobbs, Steve Ryan Bell & one other) had all declined to pay the extra, & I can't remember seeing any follow up to say it had been resolved.

Yes, that's where I meant. I have also used the moorings by Hobbs to do quick set down/pick ups. Perhaps a bit naughty but I just make sure I am not impeding anybody

Thanks everyone for all the info.

Presumably the towpath public moorings are v busy on Regatta week? is it actually feasible to drop off there (rafting?)?

Anything is possible you have to sort of improvise and be a bit cheeky, but we have never failed to pick people up from the park the business is half the fun and adds to the atmosphere.
