If it's just scratches, a polishing compound will get rid of them. I'd try some Farecla G10. If you use a machine to do the job, do not dwell on one spot, do not let heat build up and do not let it get dry. Have a spray bottle of water to hand.
Thanks Paul - I’ve got some G3 fine da polish on board but I guess that will be too fine?

If it's Farecla, G3 is courser than G10. You can try your G3, which should get rid of the scratches, but may leave swirl marks, which can then be taken out by G10.

Oh, I didn’t know that - yes Farecla - the label says use G3 Pro D.A. Fine Polish (New Formula F68.2) to get a “mar-free mirror shine finish”. Used it for a light polish of the hull last winter - didn’t notice any swirliness, but can't say I looked very carefully. Nearly all gone now anyway so I’ll wait and get some G10.
