I currently have a Frigoboat bimetallic thermostat fitted to a 12V refrigerator cooling a small cold box. The box is about 40 litres and is top-loading with the current mechanical thermostat attached to the evaporator plate.
I am considering fitting a digital thermostat that allows me to set a control temperature. It appears that the thermostat switches the compressor off when the temperature reaches the control point and turns the compressor on when the temperature reaches 2 degrees C above the control temperature.
Where is the best place to position the new digital thermostat sensor? Would there be any benefit in having both thermostats operating?
