Without me getting involved with companies sending quotes e.t.c for a boat I don't have, how much roughly am I looking at to:
a) Replace the Furling main and Furling Genoa.
b) Replace the Teak deck
c) Replace all interior soft furnisings
d) Replace all standing and running rigging.
e) Replace all hatches

This is all on a newish, but very very neglected Moody 44. I think £30,000 is going to be fairly realistic but somebody please tell me how far off I am!!

Thanks

So you've come back to a Moody 44 - good choice, but I would say that wouldn't I:)

In terms of the costs

a) I just replaced my furling main and genoa, with tri-radial pentex laminate versions and with short vertial battens in the main. Total cost £4400. However if you purchase the sail in normal cross cut dacron I suspect that you would get them under £3K

b) Don't know as I don't have a teak deck, but I would say this would be the biggest expense by far. Think upwards of £10k

c) Based on rough estimates I have had for my interior about £2500

d) I'll be surprised if a Moody 44 (the oldest ones are just over 10 years old) needs the standing rigging replaced. It is basically very robust (wide shroud base etc) and over-engineered. I would only replace if it is actually damaged. I would set aside £500 for running rigging.

e) I about to get my refurbished for about £125 for the large hatches. If new the equivalent hatches would be about £300. Smaller hatches would be less.

Feel free to PM me if you want anything further. I have spent the last year upgrading my 44, so beginning to get to know her well.

3 grand for the sails, 20 for the deck (at least) and 4 for the interior, there will be other things found, no doubt.
