I use a small self-tailing Gibb to furl my Genoa, it makes life much easier when single handing.
It used to be quite difficult to furl as the forestay bowed due to not having enough tension on the backstays - they were up as tight as they would go.
I have now shortened them and tightened them up and furling is a lot easier.
