Reeds Crew Handbook - feedback?

Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of feedback on a book I am involved in, which some of you may have seen - although the book is aimed at beginners, so most of you may not have seen it.

Reeds Crew Handbook sets out to explain the basics to new crew, in the Reeds Handbook format.

If anyone has seen it, what I'd like to know is: do you think there is anything that could usefully be added to it? Or is it about right? How could it be improved?

Please can we consider keeping this thread active ? Rather than binning it as a commercial activity.

It's going to be a very useful book for beginners, especially if the forum adds/edits it. And it's a British publication.

I bought a copy as I thought it was a good idea to give to first time guests. Covers most areas in simple terms and useful as a reference in case they weren't paying attention in the briefing.

Not sure I'm able to do that - go on, it's only 8 quid on Amazon and you can use it for a Christmas present!

As I said I am a Scot and we have a reputation to uphold.

Unfortunately I am a Yorkshireman, a Scot with the generosity removed.
The site is not in my opinion to elicit help for commercial gain.

I'm sorry if I offended. I am not expecting anyone to buy the thing (specifically most of you know everything in it), my comment to Sandy was light-hearted. I merely ask if anyone who has seen it would like to give some feedback if they want to.

I would be delighted if I could make a copy available, but I can't.

There’s a number of positive reviews on Amazon. Including one from a French guy praising it as a good way to learn English boating terms. Note to self: find the French equivalent

I have a copy for newer sailors. I think it’s great for those who have never sailed and aren’t around experienced sailors to ask questions pretrip. But it is quite wordy for some and for a casual flick through, the RYA CC book has more pictures to grab the attention. The Reeds Skipper Handbook however is a marvellous aide-memoir for those bits of sailing lore that I use less frequently than I probably should.
