All this chit-chat about buying off-shore, borrwing big tanks, nipping over to CI's and even bio-fuel that may wreck our engines has just made me mad.

Can you imagine the French taking this lying down, of course not they'd be out in their thousands, blocking ports etc.

I've decided to start a Protest Campaign that anyone here can join in with...

Until the fat lady sings in November, I'm ditching the Red Ensign! I've always used it properly, kept it clean, drawn it down at sunset etc. but it's now time to go.

From this weekend the Red Ensign will only be flown as a courtesy flag on my boat. My new ensign will now be a Confederate Flag of the "Red Diesel Rebels"!

If enough of us fly one, I'm hoping we'll get noticed and make the point.

Thousands, no millions of people lost the lives to save this country from certain Europeans, now they are just walking in with out even a passport and we're stuck paying duty into Europe with no return what so ever, except more immigrants. The Aussies and the Canadians can't and they helped us at time of need.

The latest here is that we can thank france for stirring it and all because we sunk their navy! There are so many reasons for us not to have the highest hike in tax but all we get is shafted! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Anyone interested in giving it a go?

And like er who will listen GB wont as he said to those who object to the third runway, they put a banner on the House Of P and he laughed it off, saying the decisions are made in the House not on it.

These flags will fly in the solent and no one will see and those who do may not know, as jake said get the emails to your MP that is the only way

Some other way yes, count me in, a meet, blockade, I dont care, lets not buy a new boat they get VAT on new boats, Ive just bought one so cant say that, the only way is to get GB out but will Torys do any better??

I hear the price of fuel is about to go up 2p in the budget so this will get them some more money. The income from the Red they say will be £10 - £15m per year.

good ideas needed.
 
Perhaps we sould organise a drive past the Houses of Parliament[on the Thames] all flying the Rebel Flag. That would get us some good publicity. Im on for flying the flag.
 
I'm afraid that you're right, the only time they started to panic was when we had fuel protests 8 years or so back, then, Blair used spin to break the protesters, by saying they were using threatening behaviour,towards the tanker drivers.

the absolute arrogance of this lot still astounds me but nothing short of revolution will beat them, but what do they care, with £60 oddk a year plus expenses, it's stuff the public, I'm alright jack.

Trouble is there aren't too many of us left now.
 
Like the idea but it will not do anything unless we hurt them.

The only way would be a blockade on the Thames, lots of us anchored and rafted up alongside parliament blocking the river.

It would also of course be an OAP revolt as only the retired would have time to do it. But it could be fun with a great community spirit.
 
I seem to remember on here some time ago there was talk of a blockade in the thames in protest as this latest theft (or summat along the same lines) but as far i know it never happened.Personaly id love to see it and be part of it.if it is ever arranged ill be on the first flight back to blighty and join in.Rebel flag and all.
 
Interesting how things differ. If we were to talk about flying the confederate battle flag here in the states, we would be demonized as racists. It is a pity that so many symbols get trampled by those who use them to represent negative ideologies.
 
Not quite the same over here, the flag was made popular in fun by the Dukes of Hazzard series as daredeveil rebels pulling the wool over the eyes of Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You have to remember that if you ask to borrow a 'torch' over here it's battery operated and gives off light. In the states, when using a 'Torch' you have to wear a bed sheet over your head to mask your identity and then burn a cross on some poor guys lawn! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
