Hi:
Any one know of a link or more up to the moment information on what is happening on the Solent in the Red Funnel bash.
The Red Funnel & Yachts & Yachting sites seem to be a day behind.

Finally raced today, after 2 days of very strong northerlies and a little bit too much beer in the pubs of Cowes.

2 races in about 20 knots and 5 degree temperatures.
It was fun!

Just a little late though....

I was hoping to have had a link to be able to see what was happening today.

Considering modern comms the sites are pants.. They inform a bit like Pigeon post.

At least you had a decent sail today…
Am told a few Kites were used for trawling and even the bowman who went overboard from a broach was back in time for a pint in the evening.
Amazingly it wasn’t even his own boat that did the MOB. Mayday.

Ah well all that ends well…..

Story goes that the harbour patrol was following the boat spectating when the MOB occured (they were practicing, not racing) and scooped him up pretty much straight away. Did a full blown Mayday with choppers etc and got him straight to Hospital. But he'd been in the water for a very short length of time in very good gear and was basically fine so was put to the back of the waiting queue in the A&E department.
He didn't fancy that so discharged himself and went straight to the pub!
Bowmen are a different breed......!
