Thanks for that - read thru the entire article believe it or not.
Some observations:
1. Only Belgium & Malta applied for FULL tax exemption. GB & NuLabour planned to [--word removed--] us over anyway.
2. Last line - in BOLD - the commision does not propose the authorisations requested.
The operative word here being PROPOSE. This should mean that it's not final yet - it's a PROPOSAL. What happened to "We will fight them on the beaches..."??
My reason for asking about Belgium & red diesel was that my Belgian contacts - who also follow this matter with keen interest - did not metion anything when we spoke yesterday.
So, my best guess is that HMG will just roll over and play dead, whilst Belgium - the country with the worst record for implementing EU legislation - will just ignore them.
