Oban Marina Kerrera definitely worth checking out - I I have no idea how prices compare but convenient location and a manned boatyard able to do some work if needed. Ardfern also, but very popular / busy.
I like Kerrera and I'd love to keep my boat there, but by Scottish standards it's fiendishly expensive.

We are planning a Round GB starting from Ipswich in the early summer and heading anti-clockwise to NW Scotland where we plan to leave the boat for the winter. I'm looking for somewhere to store the boat ashore from Sept until March 2022, ideally with a railway station within reach. I am looking at Dunstaffnage, but can anyone recommend other options? The boat is a 36 foot fin keel yacht.

I would say NW Scotland starts north of Ardnamurchan. However good plan to look at places within reach of Oban/ Fort William where the train access is to Glasgow, rather than to Inverness. I would not recommend going South of Oban...... purely so you have the exploring of Argyll and the Clyde to look forward to the following year.

Have a look at Linnhe Marina Appin, near Oban Fort William Argyll Scotland ...... small, friendly, cheaper.

If the OP is prepared to come down to the Clyde for winter then Clyde Marina at Ardrossan is a good option as the train literally comes into the marina. The train is extremely regular as it is the one that connects with the Arran ferry service. The shoreside yard is great for overwintering - the yard guys are excellent and there are plenty of electrics if he wants to connect up heaters / dehumidifier / keep the batteries charged. The downside is a lack of onsite chandlery.

If a train is the priority, there is a boatyard at Mallaig - with the added bonus of steam trains and the Glenfinnan Viaduct as seen in the Harry Potter films.

I'm not sure the boatyard at Mallaig is geared up for yacht storage, but willing to be corrected. More for FVs that are being worked on.
