Hoping to take the boat out Sunday for the first time after major surgery, Looking to go for lunch without over doing it so somewhere within 2 hours of Windsor Marina and preferably with a mooring I could book or at least decent moorings to get alongside or not too far to walk.
The boats a fairline T36

Thanks
Dave

Boulters Brasserie at Boulters lock. Restaurant isn't cheap, but the bar menu is reasonable and the food very good.

Don't try and moor at the restaurant itself (although they have their own moorings) as you'll ding your props on a T36.

Moor against the wall just down stream of Boukters lock....

if you go to Cookham, you do have quite a choice, if you dont mind a short (4 -5mins) walk into the village. The Bel & Dragon is very good but expensive, plus there is the Kings Arms and the Crown, although I haven't eaten in there for over a year. Wouldn't bother with the Ferry.

If you moor up in Eton or Windsor there is quite a lot of choice on the Eton side which is quicker to get to, Cote restaurant is very good and nothing on the menu is over £20.

An alternative could be Oakley Court Hotel, which you can moor up at, and they have a choice of the restaurant, bar meals and even an outside stone pizza oven

Italian Concept. Runneymead.
200m of easy mooring.
Pop through hidden alley.
Restuarant 2 mins walk away from boat.
Family business, NOT just yet another chain franchise with identikit menu and precooked pre portioned food.
Also FREE 24 H mooring.
No silly cos we are near the river bank prices either .

Address: Skytes Meadow, Windsor Rd, Englefield Green, Egham TW20 0AE

The Brasserie, at Bray Marina.

Now correctly run, with a good variety of quality fair and pleasant hard working staff.

I have slated them in the past, but they have moved on, ad deserve a visit! Prices are medium in terms of pain, while the mooring has free water and other facilities, with no draft issues.

Downstream?
Runnymede Hotel - Big lunch buffet

PO

The Kiosk half way along the front there at Windsor. Does nice Hamburgers and you can either sit at a table, on the wall or on your boat right next to it.

Maybe a bit more than a 2 hour run but had a good meal yesterday at the Three Hoseshoes at Laleham. Free mooring right opposite Harris boatyard and a 5 minute walk, up Blacksmiths lane and turn right.

Whenever we come round to the Thames we always make an effort to moor near the restuarant.
Very family friendly and with our little group including grandkids and the odd friend they have always fitted us in somewhere.

Many of the eateries close to the river appear to to be very expensive and probably charging what the market will bear.
From a outrageously over priced Indian in Cookham to a unbelieveable £18.00 club sandwich in some poncy hotel right by Windsor Bridge.
That pub at Sonning also knows how to charge for very mediocre fare as well.
At least the Duck or Riverside fleece you openly.
Will be bringing a catering pack of baked beans with me this year. :)
