Hi any recommendations for a good yard on the South Coast to handle some stern gear work on my Broom 450

New Cutlass bearings and R&D Couplings, Shafts checked for true etc.

Thanks

Dave

Depends on your location. VolvoPaul and Tom Parker are highly recommended on here, but they tend to be Solent based. There are many others of course as well, but VP and Tom have many loyal fans on here.

I now VP myself but this is more yard work than probably mobile stuff. For engineering Paul is my first port of call.

Machine shop work ,craneage, shaft checked for true etc engine alignment etc

There are many yards that can lift your boat, and if you’re happy with VP, invite him along to do the work. I’m sure he does this sort of stuff all the time. Depending on the size/weight of your boat, one of the variables is the cost of the lift. My yard Deacons charge about £500. Foulness is about 25% of this. Kemps also jolly good value, but my boat too big for them.

I’d be happy to do the work , is there no where you can get it lifted on the Thames ? Harleyford for a guess

Hi Paul
Sorry mate I thought this might tie you up for to long. The only place I can get her lifted are Thames and Kennet or Bushnels. She is two wide for Racecourse two heavy for most of the others. I will give you a call this evening
