Recognising formites

When sailing (see unexpected rendevous post below) how can you recognise a fellow forumite

I wonder if Scuttlebutt could produce a burgee as was done on another forum.
They have a burgee which forumites can fly while sailing and in port making it like a virtual yacht club.

I know as I bought one, and it is very cheerful and easy to recognise.

Alternatively we could all agree to fly a particulary signal letter instead?

I believe the burgee created wan't just for the Moboers.. it was meant for all, including SB/PBO contributors...

I'm going to order one... I think its Haydn who makes them? must do a search...

I think we need some way of recognizing each other.

Over the last Bank Holiday whilst in Yarmouth I saw Big Nick in the water taxi.

Later going into Yarmouth on the water taxi there was a boat coming out called Doris something or other and I commented to my mate, I wonder if that's Doris from Scuttlebutt ?' Another guy on the taxi knew him and said ' yes it was'. So I could have met him.

Later we sailed to Poole Quay and were rafted 5 deep. At no 2 was Swagman but I didn't know he was a forumite until I saw a post from him a few days later.
So missed him too.

Might be an idea for him to set up a paypal account tho. But you're still going to have to send him a SAE, so probably just as easy to send a cheque with it

It's sumate to do with socialising and computer mouse. Cant remember. In did not design it, just made it happen. Theres hundreds out there on rag boats and stinkies. However no one seemed interested of late, so stock has been depleated. Take a week or to, to get back in stock. Just got fed up of lack of responce this year. I'll stick a thread up in the lounge and see what folk say.
