Bought the archetypal retired raggie motorboat, a no nonsense, no compromise vessel perfectly suited to cruising the exposed west coast of Ireland. Moulded in 1987 and launched in 1990 as a private leisure vessel Talisman is fitted with twin 170hp Yanmar 4LH-DTE engines with V drive gearboxes, putting the engines aft of the wheel house. In 4 weeks ownership so far we have logged 350nm in very variable conditions and become very confident in the vessels capabilities and seaworthiness. Yes it throws water everywhere in a sea, but not over me in a dry wheelhouse, and yes accommodation is very limited, but that is fine for two of us.
