Reattaching falling headlining panels with screws

Our headlining panels are attached by screws into a plastic ceiling behind which there is a void. At some points the plastic has cracked / or the hole has become too big for the screw and the headlining will not stay up. I don’t want to just use every bigger screws or additional screws in the same panels. Please are there any suggestions for securing the headlining - ideally continuing to use screws- e.g some type of rawl plug arrangement OR silicon or similar on the screw thread?
 
Likely a plastic rawl type plug would do it. Quick pass with a 5mm drill to open the hole, then in with plug and screw. There are some neat plugs with a sort of washer head (sold at B&Q?) that the washer bit would be in front of the lining while the screw would expand the plug behind the plastic base.
 
Any decent motor factors would also stock a rawl plug and screw fastener arrangement that are normally used to attach panels and fittings on cars etc. Might be worth a look see.
 
Not sure if you are in the Med or home in Hove. If in Hove the Nut and Bolt store Portland Road could be well worth a visit.I got some bolts from there which had sleeves (with a nut at the end) that expanded into the void behind as you tighten up.... a slimmer version for you may be required. Mine was for the spare wheel front mounted on our VW Camper many moons ago.

I was assuming that the headlining comes off and there are fixing holes for the headlining under, perhaps strips of ply or similar (possibly even the coach roof).

Filling these and redrilling seemed a good option.
 
Thank you - Am spoilt for choice of potential solutions now. Hadn’t thought of the plasterboard fixings and have those to hand so might try that and the epoxy idea. I know the ‘nut and bolt’ store well and will try to see if that may be a solution.
