Any English boaters staying on board overnight away from main residence been asked for one yet?

Asking for a friend based in Wales ?

Fed up with the thought of cumming and going through a lock each day until Drakeford allows the Saes to visit their boats, second homes and caravans.

Steve.

Too many wiggle words in these pronouncements. During lockdown I have replaced five old fluorescent luminaires with LEDs in my workshop. I would like to take the scrap ones to my local recycling centre. The instructions on Flintshire website say 'if your waste is causing a hazard to health and cannot be stored safely at home. ' What does that mean? The fluorescent tubes are a nuisance around the place and could be hazardous if broken. So will it be OK to go if I smash them first?

If the police wanted to act there would have been easy pickings in the popular Solent anchorages over the last couple of weekends. But up to now they have ignored us.
Don't know if you would be asked for an excuse until you got to court. I think you'd get a fixed penalty notice on reasonable belief that you have committed an offence; then it's up to you to either pay up or go to court.

Stayed Saturday and Sunday nights this weekend ( along with quite a few others) first night on our mooring in the Orwell second night picked up a spare bouy in Hamford water. With some help as we struggled but that’s another story?.lovely couple of days sailing. No problems. I think the police were all in London With better things to do. Up until this point I have resisted but I really cannot see the harm. I will wait to get chastised by others here.

Steve.

You won’t need a reasonable excuse in the Solent. There are literally dozens of boats anchored out every night. So long as you are not causing a nuisance, urinating in public or threatening to pull down statues, the police aren’t even remotely bothered about enforcing regulations that serve no public benefit (restricting the spread of the virus).

I stayed overnight at Studland last Monday, no problem. There was a couple of boats close in which I presume were on private mooring as I didn't see any anchor or other lights, but I was in bad at 8pm.

My reasonable excuse was waiting for tide to turn and I was up at 3:30am and under way by 4:30am.

I have precisely the same problem! My local tip is open, but I can only take bagged waste.

I've anchored overnight in Chi Hbr twice. At that time it was legal, but breaking the guidelines.

Harbour master passed early in the morning on the second occasion and didn't show any interest.

As it happens I think I was wrong to do so, but that didn't stop me and won't stop me again.
