At 20 knots cruising speed we use about 260 litres an hour.
No idea at 7 knots but I will look next time we enter the marina at the regulation 6 knots.
I'm available to join you for a week or two of instruction .....Now I know you're only trying to wind me up but I'm still going to fall for it H L and S.
Never use oil! Make them straw brown by cleaning them with FRESH water and occasional 2-parting, and sanding every few years. Why is it that no raggies in the Uk understand this? And have kacky grey decks, yuk! Raggies in other countries seem to undersntad this perfectly well
Boat in this picture, one of 1000s I could have posted, is several years old

John you just gave me a scare as I started to add up the fuel costs since May 2009.
For 10 seconds I considered becoming a raggie.
When I crossed the Atlantic we used 4ltrs.![]()
Anyway DougH, having read Gwlyan's post that 260 litres does for the entire season I need to keep my time on this thread to a minimum.
I can't decide whether you swines are talking behind my back or kicking me when I'm down.
Here am I a poor yottie, a retired military veteran of humble means who takes pleasure from the few small comforts that he can eke out of his paltry pension.
What do I discover a bunch of designer clad parvenus no doubt loaded with bling and arm candy, mocking me from their Mediterranean tax havens, whilst careering round at high speeds disturbing all sensible mariners, destroying the environment and consuming vast quantities of the earth's non renewable resources.
I am hurt and shocked by heartless comments posted here.
And as for the comments about the teak, well I'll have you know it was given a good swill down with fairy liquid just after the photo was taken.
And I am not grumpy, well I wasn't till I read this thread.

I do think some comments are a bit unnecessary. Apologies.
By the way I do hope the Fairy Liquid was part of the washing up water as we can't have you wasting the Earths resources can we.

Just ask him about his last boat cleaning bill ... that'll quieten him down a bit ...![]()
... He spent about about 20 mins caressing the carbon fibre mast "a work of art" as surprisingly he'd never seen one! Thought all these modern mobos have carbon dashes and fixings??
He also took a photo of his tiny 6 year old son holding up the carbon spini pole...
He's converted!
Wish I knew how to include the smilies in the message content.
This thread is making me well grumpy I can tell you!![]()
