Reason Raggies are so grumpy

If he's got any sense he will have used the sails to create loads of upmarket jackets, bags and whathaveyou that the posh people with Mobos buy to pretend they're real sailors/QUOTE]

The real pretend sailors are those raggies that parade in highly coloured waterproof suits suitable for ocean voyages but who never seem to travel outside of the Solent.

MoBo owners are far more sophisticated and dress suitable for the better class eating establishments.

There is a thread on Scuttlebutt entitled 'Best buy this year'.

It's two cushions made to resemble a seat!!!!!!

If the cockpit of a rag & stick is so uncomfortable that they can get excited about a cushion and backrest no wonder they hate MoBos.

There is a thread on Motor Boat asking how to snub an anchor and what does "snubbing" mean ; Jeez! :p

I just read the scuttbut post DougH.

I felt like telling him he could spend his spare time cleaning his teak. Did you see it? Blimey.

Anyway, I decided not to pick a fight :)

C'mon, keep up with fashion trends..................That's commonly known as "Shabby Chic":) or was it "Cra ppy Teak?"

Now now John, it's not like you to be bitchy even though you are right.

Maybe he was trying to rest in his uncomfortable cockpit to raise enough energy to start the wood treatment process.

NB Must look up 'snubbing'in the dictionary.

Hey DougH,

Might be up your way either Saturday or Sunday night. I would take you up on the drinks.... I am just a poor raggy. :D:D

Worse off these days with the market slide....:(

You've got me wondering what you mean Steve.

Just tried to look look up 'snubbing' in the Concise Oxford Dictionary - Sixth Edition but could only find the following:

SNUB - check movement of boat by rope wound round bollard - hence Act of snubbing.

Got a feeling that yet another good English word may have been corrupted with an alternative modern day meaning.

"Thats the price of a round of drinks at our up market yacht club in Cala d'Or."
"One has standards you know."

Ha ...its not that posh been in there and before you ask.....through the front door and all :)

You are most welcome, but unfortunatly I am not back on the boat until late evening on the 28th August. ( We hate the August temperatures) My Son and his family are there at present.

After that date please come and state your poison, but I do warn you that if your other half is with you they may insist you sell the raggie thing and buy something more comfortable.(I mean the boat not the clothes you raggies love to dress in)

Always happy to prop up a poor old raggie

You lucky bu**er!!:D:D

And him a mere raggie. Obviously does not know his place in society.
I motored to Yarmouth last year to meet up with a few mobos - does that help make me part Gin Palace?! ;)

Probably doesn't help that we sailed most of the way back the next day :p
