A fabulous weekend, gales yesterday encouraged me to get on with the jobs around the boat, rewiring to the new standard, and unravelling the curious logic of the Jeanneau electricians.
I have minor niggles with the instruments, all the data can be seen, but not by the same instruments. C'est la guerre.
Engine fired up immediately and sat there burbling away to itself, and forward/reverse all functioning.
Just got to put in reefs 1 and 2, but I will do that anchored off somewhere next saturday.

Still got loads to do, but we are once again in the game. Hurrah, holidays soon.

Good to hear the news Jim, fingers crossed for an improvement in the weather soon, which shouldn't take much. Working at our place in the garden and it's been hot and dry one minute then cold and wet the next. But I think you're going to see the sun coming out just in time to enjoy some floating time

good to hear of patience, hard graft, and determination being rewarded by hoisting of flappy stuff.

Have enormous fun and pleasure for the oncoming summer and autumn and winter and spring and summers and ...

PS A small dissertation plus diagrams and on this forum about the FC standard of wiring would be most encouraging to those of us with a full box of terminals, and an unused crimper :)

Not bloody likely. It would be pooh poohed in a hundred different ways, and sharpen the definition of the verb 'to carp'.

I have replaced as few battery sized cables as possible, so those are oddly (but correctly) routed now.

I might take some pics of the shiny boxes though, as I need to submit a pack to the Jeanneau owners forum.

Now, where shall I put the fluxgate compass so it doesn't get 90 degree twists when I switch on the Linear Drive?

Also, I have been communing with the reluctant beards at Raymarine and B&G. We think an advanced settings device source reboot is needed in the B&G, but no one quite knows why.

Target for this evenings entertainment: Complete the rewire of the Webasto Air Top programmer.

Every one else just goes sailing .....

I think what I seem to be stuck doing, may be called carparking ?
At least I've got permission to remove the mast for repairs prior to taking the next step, whatever that might be
It sometimes pays dividends insisting on keeping the boat outside, rather than finding somewhere more discreet

Haha!!!!

All instruments now showing all data after the reboot and source device. Dunno why, but it just wasn't picking them up automatically. Result.
Even the ruddy AIS is working, finally. The compass appears to have failed, but I was running out of light, so packed it in, before removing and reinstalling.

The netbook wifi router and internet sharing device is fired up, but a bit slow - maybe just the signal.

That really just leaves the DSC and NMEA repeater by the chart table to wire in, now that everything else appears to be working correctly.

No time for the Webasto this evening, there is always tomorrow.

I still intend visiting Shotley to go and see Phoenix as soon as practicable.
