I havnt time to read all the posts over the last week to enable me to answer your poll ..... (I have been away)
can you precis it for me and let me know what I need to read ?
You could draw on your experience from further back and give a "feeling" of your performance as a useful forumite. Or not, in which case you should only answer the second part of the poll. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I suspect that you have not recognised that frequently three of more people are answering the same question simultaneously, thus leading to a multiplicity of posts with answers. A quick glance at the time of posting will reveal this (but dont get confused with the date of registration of the poster!!!!)
Thank you Talbot, but I always check that. The same 10 minute period could be overlap but sometimes it happens hours apart. It's seems to be that people just wabt to have their say and in my opinion if it's already been said, then the least a poster could do is acknowledge that by agreeing.
But in a world where it's OK for your kids to walk all over somebody's car and criminals get let off but old ladies who won't pay their Community Charge go to jail, perhaps I'm being over-optimistic.
Am I insane and the rest of the world sane, or am I one of the few sane people left in this world, and the rest are mad as hatters? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
We all need to fret about these things.
But I've been out a lot today, gardening, sailing and blagged a ride in a vintage petrol-powered lake launch at the museum. (Two warden's RIBs hanging about)
Tommorrow I may fret again.
I see no-one has noticed that I got the poll questions the wrong way round. Does this mean that even if forumites read the post they don't understand it? Am I going barmy?
Is it all worthwhile?
Is it time for my bath yet nurse?
Being a slow typer it can often take me several hours to compose a witty and erudite response to a post /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Don't necessarily assume that all the posts were there when I started my response.
Anyway if we were restricted only to making original and informative posts on these boards they would be VERY quiet places /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
On a more serious note a recent downgrade of the forum software made it much harder to guarantee not missing posts in longer threads. The "new" status of a post seems to evaporate much faster than it used to.
