Re-sealing Stanchion Bases

South Lakes Wild Animal Park.
Our daughters boy friends Mum & Dad live at Meathop and have spoken of the park on a number of occasions we must make an effort and make a visit up to your neck of the woods for more than just a day.
We did the races at Cartmel a few weeks ago and had a very enjoyable day.

I will agree with that It looks a fabulous place to go those big cats look awesome.

To get back to the boat for a moment, if I may;

The side decks look very narrow. Is it worth having stantions at all? I only ask because on my Vivacity 20 there is only room for one foot on the side deck so I either have one foot either side of the guard rail or one foot on side deck and knee on cabin top, both of which make the stantions and rail redundant. In fact, they just get in the way.

BTW, how come an eagle hasn't taken Hissing Syd?

I just make my way over the cabin roof. It's a bit of security on the foredeck I suppose and as the cockpit sole is narrow I tend to use the seats as a footway, so they provide something to lean against if I stagger.
But I've thought now and then that they are a bit of a faff. Mrs Lakesailor finds them comforting.
I may remove them whilst doing the stanchion bases and "forget" to re-install them.

I tried to see how fast you were going, but you've left the instrument covers on. Why don't you want us to know?

How fast? That would only tell you how near to impending graunching we were. I only fitted a depth sounder recently and find that I still prefer holding my breath when near the shore. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I went out to the boat today to re-sealing my 4 stanchion bases.

I took the old bases off and have temporarily sealed the holes.

Just a progress report, since the original was a disappointment.
