Re-rivetting SS fixtures to aluminium mast

I was hoping for "Monel" to come up - I have an Air-Riveter - but what exactly are the properties of Monel Rivets - and why are they the choice?

What does "Monel" mean - in terms of metallurgy?
I apologise for my ignorance on the subject.

Monel metal is copper/nickel alloy with high tensile strength and low corrosion.
It has the additional advantage of being suitable for use with both stainless steel and aluminium, so is the ideal choice for riveting these materials together.
Monel rivets do require a fair amount of force so heavy duty tools are needed to use them.
