Hi,
I'm wondering if anybody has experience with re-registering a boat that was previously Part 1 registered (it's for a non-commercial/pleasure vessel)? Currently it's on the SSR. I had a read of the UK Ship Register's site about the process, and it was definitely helpful, but I'm curious to know if anyone has any personal experience doing it? I'm in the process of buying a boat, and as I'm about to get it surveyed, I figured I might as well get the measurements for Part 1 registration done at the same time. Although as it was previously Part 1 registered, maybe it's not necessary to get it re-measured? As far as I can tell the process for re-registration requires only the current Bill of Sale (which I'll have once I complete the sale from the current owner), the main application form, registration fee, declaration of eligibility form and a survey certificate for tonnage/measurement from a recognised surveyor. Is re-registering as straight forward as it seems to be, or am I overlooking/underestimating something?
Thanks for your help.
