RE-Proofing waterproofs - the best way?

Giving them a good wash and treatment will restore a modicum of waterproofness but you’ll never get them back to being properly waterproof. The wash-in or spray-on treatments only help water to bead up and run off fabrics but with a little, time, pressure or friction the water will seep through.

If they are gore-tex and just starting to seep through, a gentle spin in the tumble dryer on a low / medium heat will get the membrane to reseal.

If that does not do the trick you can get some reproofing wash (Fabsil?) which could help.

However at 10 years old, their useful life may be coming to an end and you might have to get the credit card out...
