As you are all aware, yesterday I was accused of using this forum as nothing more than an advertising bulletin board. I thought about this today during my lunch at burger king, and as I ate a large and tasty meal for one at a surprisingly low price of £2.49 with a large coke available for just another 60 pence, I felt firstly aggrieved and then within 10 minutes I felt hurt. I say 10 minutes because I can be sure it was 10 minutes due to my finely crafted Omega seamaster professional watch, good for depths of 1000 feet and yet still stylish, available at most leading jewellers for £1200 and inclusive of a five year transferable guarantee.

I merely tried to garner some like minded individuals to sail to Cherbourg with me on a beautiful yacht rather than taking the ferry, although if I was taking the ferry I would probably recommend P and O or why not relax and catch the Euro star from Waterloo only £75 return if booked in advance, remember to quote incompetent crew when booking to claim the free lucky bag give away. The main person to complain also derided my for saying that whilst I would be gaining my competent crew I would also be using the trip as a grog run.

May I ask what’s wrong with being allowed to buy some duty free whilst ashore, Cherbourg has a wonderful chain of duty free shopping centres only minutes away from the marinas and offer some of the best discounts available whilst cruising the coast of France.

Further more the trip was never intended to be just a grog run, in fact if it was just a question of grog I would rather pop into odd binns, they cannot be beaten for service, quality or on price and all of the staff are only to happy to cater for the modern wine drinker. In particular red wine drinkers may be interested to know that this week’s special offer allows you to purchase 3 bottles of merlot for just £9.99 yes that’s just £9.99 although this offer is subject to availability.

In short if a certain Mr x did take offence I can but apologise and raise my glass of Coca-cola as I say sorry.

Incompetent crew is a registered trade mark. Insults maybe recorded for training purposes.

Sharpen up mate....just because there happens to be one d*ckhead on the forum you shouldn't let it get to you. Just about every other post was, quite rightly IMHO, on your side. When the thought police start preventing peeps from using the forum to get chaps together to go sailing it will be a cold day in hell.

For what its worth I cant see any issue with trying to get forumites to join you on a cost sharing charter.

Koolie hasnt been on here 5 minutes ,he would do better to lurk a little longer until he gets a better feel for what the forum is all about.

im wearing my Henri LLOyd deck shoes at the moment, only £35 excellent grip very comfy nice range of colours available... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Fer fecks sake man Don't be such a plonker.

Don't you know that McDonald's offer better value than BK, Tag is considered, by those in the know, to be a far classier alternative to Omega, Stena are far more comfortable than P&O, Calais has far more options than Cherbourg and the Majestic loyalty scheme offers a free bottle of Chablis (worth £20 at regular retail prices) with every case of Sauvignon Blanc !

Great post, now how can I get an ad about my yacht brokerage in. No, can't think of anything, you'll just have to read the ad in this months super Yachting Monthly. A snip at £3.60. Or why not subscribe and have it delivered to your door. Tired of that old door, buy a new one from B&Q in the spring sale. If you haven't got a door, why not simply subscribe to the electronic version as advertised on this good value YBW.com site.

Agree Tag is the best

Don't be so MOODY, I am sure you will be FEELING better once you get out on the water in a good WESTERLY breeze, with some competent MARINERs. Much more fun than walking the hills in BAVARIA, or driving around in a VOLVO.

You might even get to eat some an OYSTER or two in France, in St MALO. They are a LEGEND. There might be a few HUNTERs or FISHERmen around.
