RE 'getting away with murder what would have done?

Re: RE \'getting away with murder what would have done?

No good sitting there yawning and moaning, involve yourself
If you have been sailing surely you have a tale to tell.
I for one would love to hear new yarns and experiences
Not Cliff tho please. I await your input, luv to swop tales

Re: RE \'getting away with murder what would have done?

I am very new to this Forum, and I have something to say!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The forum, as I understand, is an electronic way of like minded sail people, who would speak about ALL TYPES OF SUBJECTS in the marina bar, or over tea and stickies in the cockpit, having an opportunity to speak about ALL TYPES OF SUBJECTS with fellow Sail people from all over the world!

A fantastic opportunity to hear other peoples views on a variety of subjects, who have one common factor, they also like sailing.

Those who are complaining of the subject material, I have a question,
"Are you the kind of people who sit in the said bars and cockpits, who 'PATROL' up and down the pontoons looking for fellow sailors to chastise for rigging their vessels in a manner you feel to be in correct? " Are these the people with whom the label sailor-bore was introduced?

We all find common ground prior to be able to start a conversation with someone, Would you turn around in the street or pub, and stick your ore in on a conversation you didn't agree with? Or would you simply smile to your self and go and focus your attention on to something else which does interest you?

Smile and be happy, just because you feel you can shout loud , does not mean that you are right. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm off to take SWMBO to the bank now, as instructed to do!!!!!!

OOps, posted under Tina's name in error, I must get her to logout, when she is finished reading, or get another cat-o-nine as the other one is wearing out!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good Post Rum Pirate.
Thinking about it,it is not so very far from waking up on a boat and hearing an intruder....which is quite boaty really.

With all due sympathy, I thought this was supposed to be a sailing forum.

Those that are of a similar view may like to read the description of this forum:

Yachting Monthly's Scuttlebutt
Chat about cruising, debate this month's hot topic

Well it so happens that this month's hot topic (or one of them) appears to be about murder/crime/your view.

If some individuals (no names) are so admant that all posts should be about 'sailing and only sailing' why don't they regularly start posts on 'sailing' topics? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am one of the "complainers of the subject material"
No to all your questions. I just feel in my opinion (which I'm entitled to) that there are some subjects that don't need to be discussed with anyone and everyone and some that should be shared with only close friends or therapists. In my opinion The subject matter of this thread comes under at least one of these categories. If I met someone for a fist time in a bar and he started such a conversation revealing such intimate details I'm sure I would find an excuse and leave.

Will this rant make me a muppet?

I don't post anything that I cannot shout (litterly speaking) from the roof tops.

Obviously we are not all the same, some are far more reserved than others. Wouldn't you say so old chap? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Perhaps the objectors might like to lobby the site administrators and change the description of posts that can be made under Scuttlebutt

You are entitled to your opinion /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

And thank goodness not every one is the same, eh, wouldn't it be a boring world if they were?

Kindred_Spirit, you are a naughty girl, stop upsetting the SB's /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Keep up the diversity of subjects, it keeps us all Sane!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It does help if people would look outside the nine dots before getting upset with each other. As Tina said, and with smilies, just smile and ignore, think of your blood pressure!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
