Re-chroming winches.

I had my Lewmar 30's stripped, prepared and re-chromed by Silva Bronz near Bordon. They didn't polish the barrel of the drums as we thought it might make them too slippy, but left the OEM finish. They warned me that this might not be a success, but I've had no problems in six years of use. They still buff up nicely with a soft cloth. I don't use a metal polish on them.

Topcat... Ah.. now Silva Bronz... and a recommendation from someone who has used them.

Interesting though.. because I was told (during my phoning round) that it's the chroming guy from Silva Bronz that is now at J&A in Fareham!

Can't comment on that. They did a good job for me, though. I'd go back there before trying anyone else now.
