I'm afraid I personally can't, but being completely ignorant on the subject, would like to ask if it more than an aesthetic reason that would make you want to re-chrome ?? Thank you.
The winches are c. 35 years old and I would really like to refurbish rather than replace them - not least because of cost.
I'm not sure how the re-chroming works or even it is worth doing. I have spent some time overhauling them - but as they are going to go back onto re-sprayed decks, would like to do something with them aesthetically.
Alas not - they were done in Antwerp (as that was were Guapa's deck was replaced this winter).
To give you an idea of cost: the 32' winches cost €150 a piece, the 28' ones €125 a piece.
I had asked around for an East Coast based firm, but drew a blank.
You might want to check with classic car aficionados - they have bits re-chromed on a regular basis. Might be cheaper too - not subject to the usual 'marine' inflation.
For motorcycle parts, I've always used Niphos at Crewe (01270 .... dir. enq's); old-established small company
They specialise in one-offs, and strip/polish/rechrome jobs, to a very high standard - much better than the usual 'decorative' chromers.
As to be expected, not cheap, but I've not found anyone better.
