Re: Air Conditioning (portable)

Yes, you all spotted the mistake! My wife (her that must be obeyed at all times) says she is not an all-in wrestler, ( I don't know what she does on a Friday night!) and has carried this unit down the jetty to the boat, I carry the beer," Priorities and that" The unit weighs approx 35k and not 70k but then i'm still in shillings and pence.
Sorry about that, so thats one benefit gone, you can't use it as a anchor!
The air conditioner will use air that is naturaly aspirerated to the boat's interior and can be vented through a local port hole. There is no need for a water drip tray and the unit can be left on indefinitly.
What would be a good price! It will be priced to sell. I am interested in all comments.

Re: Air Conditioning (portable)

Thanks for you comments.
Let me answer some of your questions!
The compsumption of the air conditioning unit would lets say be 4.7 amps at 50 Hz at 500W and can easly be operated on a marina electrical supply at 9 amps.
I consider the unit to be extreamly small when you consider that there is a limitation to what you can shrink the components down to.
I think you will find the B%Q product to be an Air Cooler and there is a big difference to a Air Conditioner. These in there operation are not suitable in a boat.
The unit can be operated via an infer red remote control, (so you can stay in bed ).
This will be a quality product at only a fraction of the cost of a built in boat Air Con.
Remember they cost from £6,000 and up wards.
All yor comments are welcome.

Zack,
You can get a boat airconditioner of the size you are talking about, built in for about £3000, water cooled, not 6 grand also not vetus. By the way, 4.7 amps at 230 volts is, 1081 watts. Which is still a very small amount, my genny will do that withoput problems, great! What area did you say this unit would cool? Thanks for your information.
