Bank holiday weekend and a club trip to the Fambridge river festival.
They could only accommodate some of us, so the overspill ended up at Burnham.
Obviously, being a RCC East coast trip, the weather instantly turned foul...
Anyway, a few snaps.

And a fairly brief run up getting rid of some of that pesky diesel before it turned decidedly bumpy further up the coast

Obviously, being Burnham, there was quite a lot of this

But also a decent spattering of this :)

We got the train to Fambridge for the river festival... which was a tad quieter than anticipated. We arrived at 10:55, by 11:00 we'd been around it twice and were sprinting back to the railway station before the rain got too much heavier.
Obviously, the weather deteriorated further and Monday's trip back was looking decidedly unpleasant so the decision made to stop an extra day. This allowed us to visit the Burnham seafront event thing, loads of stalls, live bands, lots of people and a decent car show. I was particularly smitten by a collection of these.
One day, one day...

The weather conditions were fantastic for the run back on Tuesday, this was in the middle of the estuary and the water was like glass

So, not a great weekend weather wise, and some wiser members of the club decided against venturing out but it's always nice to get away in the boat.

Nice pics, as always. Pity the estuary wasn't like that in June/july when I had a month off to do some cruising. Instead we got N - NE 6-7's and 2 metre swells, which was very uncomfortable In a 28 footer. Had to elect to 'punch through' at around 10 knots. Seriously jealous as we love Burnham, as it is relatively unspoilt in our opinion...… Ah well, maybe next year!

The club always visits Burnham early in the Year. Fred says that it's always, without fail, cold and wet and in the few times we've been, he's been 100% right!
We didn't have it that bad on the way up, 4-5's from memory. A bit of rolling on the way up and lots of slamming as we turned the corner but still fine at 17-18 knots which made it a mercifully brief run!

Photos look amazing Murv, well endured, by all accounts weather was pants, but the estuary on the way back looked a dream. Makes it all worth it

It was quite a magical day on the Tuesday. Due to tide timings we were in no rush to get back so pottered at 8-10 knots with the tide :)
