I've RTM and played around with the controls but I cannot, whatever I do, get any kind of backlight to show on my Raytheon SL72 Radar.

Other than that it seems to work pefectly.

Does the backlight blow in them? Seems surprising if so!

The backlight in our Furuno went, just as were coming out of Gib at 3am! Needed a new display at IIRC £350!!!!

Yes, mine went and raymarine fixed it... Iirc it wasnt cheap.... But worth checking.

The sl72 is getting on but the scanner is not compatible with the new stuff (on ours). So i had it fixed...

I now only use it as a radar....

Maybe someone can find a flexible white LED strip that is thin enough to replace the LCD screen back-light?

Simply find a suitable +V point on the circuit board that turns on when the unit is switched on, etc.

Just an idea... shoulnd't be more than a tenner I would imagine...

Apart from that, that unit seems to go relatively cheap on e-Bay at times... around £100 iirc?
