Raytheon Radar - \"bearing pulse error\"

I have an "old" raytheon R20X radar - it it telling me it has a "bearing pulse error". My electrical guy told me I need some kind of switch - but I have forgotten what he said and he is now off working abroad. Does anyone know what I need - and more importantly does anyone have one or know where I can get one ?

Agree. Start with the connectors first, they can get corroded. Check both ends, but more likely to be scanner end of the cable as its exposed to the elements a bit more.

got one the same, from memory it gives this message if the white wire is disconnected. Also I seem to recall, after an embarrassing 2 or three hours getting the bloody thing off the mast that it gives the same message when the radome switch is off!. (Was spotted by the wife when I eventually lowered it to the deck)

He may have been refering to the Transmit/receive (T/R) cell. This stops the transmitted pulse being received during transmission and blowing up the set! Best bet for that is to contact Raytheon.co.uk
However as others have said I would check cables and connections first.

There is a reed switch and magnet that detect the rotation of the scanner, sometimes the switch gives out and causes BP errors. Dead easy to check though. Also check the magnet is still there too, I have seen ones where they have fallen off or been removed!
