Im having a problem with this unit not geting a fix i dont know anything about these things is there anything simple i could try

Sounds like the GPS aerial feed - if its a Raymarine it has an internal battery that can, if your very careful be replaced. Otherwise its £250 ish for a raymarine replacement ! you can buy other GPS aerials that are much cheaper.

I have a Raymarine(Raytheon) 425 and an RL70. The original aerial was the 120. I have replaced the internal battery in the 425 and changed the aerial to an Evermore from ebay. The supplier was from South Wales and was incredibly helpful. The internal battery was easy to replace except removing the old one. You can buy battery holders and simply solder it to the original connections. The aerial was so simple to change with the instructions supplied with the aerial. I did try to change the battery in the aerial but with no success. One battery is visible but I think there may be something else which we could not access without ruining the case.

I have now removed the areal from the boat I have removed the 3.5volt battery from the areal and checked it is still showing 3.5 volts what should I try now is it worth putting this back together or should I just replace , what is the chances of it being the internal battery in the main unit is it worth spending money on this unit or should I just replace it
