Rays\'n Channel

Came down from Bradwell into the Crouch yesterday (Sunday 15th.)East Coast question - Rays'n - normally I can just get over two and a half hrs either side of H/W as I draw a metre. well yesterday I got over 3hrs before, with almost 2Mtrs. under the transducer. I note that the yellow channel buoy has been moved, does anyone know what the latest drying Ht. is now through this swatchway ???

Re: Rays\'n Channel

Yes, don't be fooled by the last couple of E.Coast tides. We returned to our berth off the Swale early (ie Sat. evening) so as we would not be neaped later on over the w/end. The predicted tide was 5.03 , but I dont think it made even 4.03 and hence we could not get on our mooring. Then lo and behold Sunday , not only did it make about a meter over prediction, but it was about two hours early and hung-in forever. weird !. I think winds and pressure changes were respnsible. So.. don't start charging through that channel... Peter
