Raymarine

I am in Dover at the moment. Can anybody suggest where I might get a dodgy Raymarine tillerpilot tested. I do not particularly want to send it all the way to Raymarine, Portsmouth and both of the people they suggested on the phone do not exist. The statement that they thought Kent was 'in Ramsgate' did not inspire confidence either!

Dover Yacht Company, at the edge of the marina, or the friendly chandlery the other side of the dual carriageway, will almost certainly know "a man who can" .

If it emits a long beep and does nothing else then your battery is flat. If other then you still need your local man.

Maybe you sghould buy a new one AND try and repair the old one by stripping it slowly.
Carrying two while cruising is a good idea.

Thanks everyone. Nothing wrong with batteries or boat electrics. Have power at the socket but the tillerpilot is as dead as a dead thing in a box marked 'dead things'.

Had somebody repair the PCB on mine a few years ago in Herne Bay. If this is of interest I will try to dig up his number, although not too sure where it is!

Try the harbour office - I've always found them pretty knowledgeable in directing me to someone who can.
