Is there any difference in the MFDs i.e Axium 9 or 12 inch MFD hybrid sold in the States to the one we buy here. If not what is to stop you buying from the US at a much cheaper price than in the UK

I’m sure the base map is different and how would you stand with the warranty? Not sure Raymarine UK would help if it goes wrong so would need to make sure whoever you buy from offers back up.

There is no difference. I have ordered a Dragonfly chart plotter from ebay USA evidence and all I had to do was buy a local card for Denmark and the Baltic.
VAT , postage cost and import taxes is regards to why it does not always end cheaper by buying from another country outside the EU .

As I understand it, there’s nothing to stop you purchasing in the US and arranging a UK installation or fitting yourself, however you would only get the standard Raymarine warranty.
The full Raymarine onboard warranty only applies to units purchased and installed in the same country.
