I’ve done well buying used nav kit but may have slipped up on this one.

ST60+ wind. The cable and plug are new. The vane and display head are used but look perfect.

I’ve installed it and direction works fine. The speed says zero even with the cups spinning.

Suggestions please.

I just fitted a second hand replacement anemometer and wind direction mast head unit for my ST60+. I thought it was plug and play, but it is not, you need to calibrate it. I also tried calibrating in light wind and that did not work as the arrow follows the boat's head, so a bit of wind strength is needed. Similar situation as you but initially wind direction out and wind speed zero, then wind speed read as per boat speed, but wind direction out of kilter, then when wind picked up all calibrated as expected.

So, if you have not calibrated, re-calibrate. Hope this helps.

Check the connections. The voltage on the yellow wire should be between 0 and 5v vs the screen wire depending on the wind speed. Check at the bottom of the mast and then at the instrument. Maybe also clean the connections between the sensor arm and socket at the top of the mast. If no volts then the sensor is probably faulty.

Slight thread drift but does anyone know why a ST60 might constantly cycle from 0 to 99 knots? Wind direction was fine. It happened last trip out and miraculously fixed itself after 20 minutes. Cups were spinning as expected. Thanks
