Ok we have two raymarine 240e active speakers on board , the ones with volume control the one on the fly bridge is hard to hear . Has anyone split the wires and connected an extra speaker.

I have some 'marine' extension speakers ..... in the end I shelved them and used PC Media speakers ..... louder and better clarity of speech / sound.

I admit they are not waterproof .... but its not hard to source waterproof speakers and avoid paying silly 'marine prices'.

According to the schematic you can find on the internet, the speakers receive a line level audio signal and have an internal amplifier. So yes, you can split out the audio signal, but you will have to amplify it before routing it to your extra speaker. And don't forget to add a volume control to that.
