Raymarine rudder sensor - centering hard over

Good afternoon,

I just purchased a Raymarine rudder sensor and the first thing out of the box I've noticed is that it doesn't centre in the middle of the sweep where the middle mark is. In fact, the spring pushes it hard over to starboard and I wanted to check if this was how they are supplied? I'm assuming this isn't the case at all

Correct in that's how they are supplied, or correct in assuming that is wrong?

Any play in the ball sockets would result in a fluctuating signal to the course computer. Having the sensor sprung to hold the arm in one direction eliminates any risk of play and ensures a precise rudder angle is generated.
So your sensor is fully serviceable.
