Raymarine rl70 and rl70c

Yes, the whole Pathfinder series uses the same case and connectors, except if you're using multiple in a HSB/HSB2 network - then they must have the same, either HSB or HSB2. Physically there's no difference, but if one of them was upgraded to HSB2 and the other was not, they won't talk. If it's just one, no problems.

I think the RL70C is a lot deeper than RL70 so if surface mounting will need more room for the depth.

I have 70C but need the antenna, does anyone know of a cheaper one than the Raymarine?

Icom now offer a 12V GPS receiver aerial that should work with your Raymarine.
Cost around £75.00 and cheaper than the eyewateringly expensive (£265.00) offering from Raymarine.
There a couple of after market GPS receiver offerings on Ebay for around £90.00.
You must get something powered by 12v.

I replaced mine with one from Digital Yacht, not cheap, but a lot cheaper than Raymarine. Worked perfectly from the off to the extent that I didn't bother putting it on the rail, it just stays indoors and picks up the signal perfectly.
