Stupid question no 1. My boat has 2 x RC520 plotter units, one on the flybridge and one below. If you plotted a different route in each one and then asked the autopilot to follow a route via the track control, which route would it follow?
Stupid question no. 2. I quite fancy a colour plotter screen because I cant see the existing monochrome display in sunlight. Will a colour display be more viewable in sunlight and is it possible to upgrade the existing units?

1. Dunno. I will try it this week (I'm there termorrer night, having just got back this morning!) and let you know - good question. (We have 2x RL80s, connected by this HSB2 stuff, but same principle should apply). I suspect that when you select say "goto cursor" on one unit, which you'd have to do before pressing "track", it will grey out and disable the "goto cursor" soft key on the second unit. But I'll try it out

2. The daylight screens are amazingly good, clearly visible even in med sun. Only complaint is that at night when you want to dim them, they dont dim enough. I wind ours down to 1% brightness (from 100% in daylight use) and they're still a bit too bright at night imho.

Miek, you can't upgrade directly, but you can obviously buy a new colour unit for up top. Watch out, though, as the new units are HSB2, and unless your 520's are the 'plus' versions, you will need to upgrade the downstairs unit to work with the new colour one. Raymarine charge £160 from memory for the upgrade to HSB2. As the others said, the colour screens are superb (and double the resolution, I think).
