I have an E7D multi function display and an 18" enclosed radome. When starting up the radar , the power " ON " touch button is grayed out. When pressed, a text box is displayed saying " No radar source found ". The Radome wire going up the mast, has power going to it. The diagnostic display only shows the MDF and not the radome. Is the problem the radome or the cross over coupler, cables, MFD? Any suggestions. Its only 1-2 years old , used 3-4-times.

I usually find it's lack of power at the Radome.
You may have volts at the MFD end but I suggest cleaning up the wires/terminals.
As a tempoary suggestion just take a wire (positive and negative) from the battery direct to the end of the radar cable instead of going through other switches, cable runs etc. See if that sorts it. If it does then it's probably deteriating cable connections.

Tx for your response. Talked to Raymarine twice. Once, they told me to connect the radome power leads directly to a battery as the MDF does not like to share the same circuit breaker as the Radome. Didn't help. Next they told me to call in a outside tech to trouble shoot but since I self installed the radar his labor is not covered only the radome. So before I spend $$ for the tech to tell me to send it in to Raymarine, I thought I would see if others had the same problem with an easier fix. Looks like its bite the bullet time.

Talk to them again. There is much more self-diagnosis you can do. Check power at the radome for instance.

The scanner is driven by a toothed gear on a small motor, this needs cleaning from time to time, and re-greasing. as it jams. Lack of use does not help either
