Hi guys , does anyone have any ideas as to why the radar image on my plotter ( C80 ) is partially dissapearing . Some detail . When first turned on i can see a complete image of all the marina around through 360 degrees , then after a moment or two segments of the image dissapear then reapear in a random fashion with each sweep of the scanner . Have checked that there is good power supply ( over 13 volts at plotter ) and now am at a loss as to what else to try , apart from sending the unit of for repair . thanks for reading .

Have not checked that yet to be honest , but i had the same system on my old boat and the image was allways constant .Thanks for the idea though i will try it at the weekend .

Talk to Raymarine;- they are very helpful.

Had a similar problem a few years back, it was a faulty component in the radome which had to be replaced. But speak to Raymarine first.

Check the radome very carefully for cracking around the fixing bolts - once this starts, and it seems to be a common fault that develops over time with many radomes, it'll let water in and component failure will follow.
