Raymarine Plotter A65 (old) with RS12 Antenne : SUDDENLY NO FIX

Hallo friends,

suddenly and unexpected my A65 failed. There is no FIX. From one moment to the other.
How to check , wether the A65 or the Antenna RS12 has gone to hell ?

Go to page 36. The GPS status can be checked.

If you switch on the plotter with the boat at a mooring the GPS may not obtain a fix until the boat is moved.

Hallo Martyn,

at the page of GPS status is shown NOTHING ! No sat numbers in the sky circle , and no sat signals or elev or azimuth datas are mentined. The page is quite empty ! NMEA in/out page is also empty.
Will now go to the boat and measure the voltage in the cable to the GPS antenna.

After cutting the cable : at the Plotter 12volt between red and sheeld. 11.5 Volt between red and green or brown. Only red and sheeld connected :12volt between red and sheeld. Nothing between yellow and sheeld , also nothing between Brown or Green and the sheeld. No pulses on the yellow line !

I've a different RM plotter that sometimes will not obtain a fix - but does try. Putting foil around the antenna for a few minutes, then taking if off has resolved my problem - it forces a 'cold start'

I did so , but no success.

A new antenna RS12 is not avaliable , as the old A65 is not in the production.Had bought the A65 3 and a half years ago for 299 € .Have orderd a Lowrance HDS 7m gen2 touch , hoping there won´t be any trouble in the nearest future.
