Raymarine P70 Black screen

I had just left port under motor with Raymarine autopilot in heading mode and was on deck tidying up when suddenly boat veered off course. I found that the P70 control head was black screen and buttons unresponsive. There is another instrument daisy chained to it which is working fine but to be certain I tried changing connections around but nothing changed. I suspect this is a Raymarine repair job - but is there anything else I can try?

Brightness setting could be really low. Try looking at the screen under a blanket.

Do you have anything else that will tell you what is on the network? Does it show up?

Thanks lpdsn that is a good idea - I will try a full software upgrade of the whole system tomorrow and that should show if the P70 is still on the system.

The brightness is definitely not the issue - it was working fine for first ten minutes or so of the sail today.

I was still able to control autopilot from the MFD but just in heading and track mode - P70 is the only instrument that can engage wind angle mode as far as I can work out.

My p70 failed as per yours after about 50 hrs. Raymarine replaced under warranty. Would run for 10 ro 20 minutes before failing. Fitted august 2015 so may be a bad batch.
