Raymarine oddity

I think I missed a bit out too.............

zoom out a long way
press find ship
zoom in again

or move cursor in front of your track
zoom out a long way
zoom in again

I used to berth right on a chartlet boundary, in order to get the channel detail I had to keep the cursor well inside the covered chartlet area.

Chart shortcomings continued

We've got two slots, but one has a user data card.
The chart we have is C-Map NT+ Ligurian and Tyrrhenian sea W+191. So it's wide coverage.
I presumed, and nothing on the c-maps website says otherwise, that the level of detail would be the same for all the area covered. It wasn't cheap.

I'm also disappointed that when you choose to find out more about an object the info is generally useless. So a port has a red and a green buoy! And another buoy has yellow and black horizontal stripes!!
A "dangerous" wreck is always covered with water but depth not given ....

I thought the electronic charts would take all the info from paper charts. It's as if someone on an internship had been asked to put in the info, and they know nothing at all about navigation.

Oh well ...

I am sure you will find that the "Plotter Mode" sorts out your problem.

With regard to the quality of the information, I think it is because development stopped a while ago on NT+. It is crazy that they still charge so much for them!!

Do you have the latest ( Feb 2011 ) version?

I have 2 c90w's and the navionics card.
Just latley the zoom in or out seems to have slowed a little and ine or two of the scales seem to take forever or won't load. No idea why!

"Oh well ..."

My laptop software package was vastly simpler to operate, easier to read, gave far more detailed chart info AND came with a portfolio virtually covering out to The Great Andomeda Galaxy, for pocket money.

Plotter is eye achingly expensive complicated hard work compared to laptop:(

I know this is an old thread, but I had the same issue of not zooming all the way in. The advise is great and now all works perfectly

many thanks
