I’m about to upgrade my old ‘E120’ Chartplotter with an Axiom. I have a lot waypoints and routes on my E120 that I’d like to transfer across to my new plotter. I need to buy a new chart for the new plotter. Can anyone recommend how best to do this. The E120 has a compact flash card the Axiom a SD card,
Thanks

Look in your E120 manual on how to save waypoints and routes to your CF card. They will most likely be in the format <your choice of name>.gpx

Copy the gpx files to a separate new SD card (not the new chart card!). Plug that in the spare slot on the Axiom then check that manual for "import waypoints & routes".

Tracks can also be handled in the same way.

To aid finding waypoints and routes on the old card, before you remove it, create a waypoint and route called, eg 15DEC24 and then search for that file name when the card is connected to a computer.

This should reveal the location of the other waypoints and routes ready to copy and reformat to gpx if not their native format already.

I made a spreadsheet that then exports to a gpx file so I can swap waypoints between Raymarine & B&G adopting their icons and colours as required (eg a pink lobster for all the Cadoha waypoints from their website).

For anyone wanting to cross brand name borders with routes / waypoints / tracks etc ...

"GPSUtility" is a useful little PC program .....

I'm not saying its needed here - but its a useful app to have on the PC ...
