Anyone using Raymarine axiom MFD's and checking for updates, do not allow Lighthouse 4 to be installed. Actually, you won't notice what is going to be installed, just that an update is available. Raymarine has paused the rollout of LH4, so you may not even get offered the update, if you have already updated your MFD and are getting problems, roll back the LH3.

Paul, Have you any idea what these problems are as I have updated to LH4 on our Axiom+ and it seems to work OK.

I had a customer with a brand new Axiom +12 that started to freeze after about an hour, then rebooted. I guess there'll be some other random issues depending on the exact setup (what other equipment is connected etc). If yours is working OK i wouldn't worry.

LH4 is an absolute joke. Frequent crashes of the whole system, spurious depth readings, unable to follow a GoTo waypoint command for more than a few minutes. Unable to access boat details because tapping on the boat symbol does nothing. Lost the rudder reference position indicator. Avoid it like the plague.

I upgraded my Axiom to LH4 and have used it subsequently for several days with no problem. So looks like problems may be specific to particular installations/configurations.

So as @PaulRainbow says above, if your installation is working, don't worry.

I'll be upgrading to the new patch version when available though.

2 Brand new Raymarion Axiom + 12's. I've had problems ever since I installed it. Freezes up and reboots often. Can't change lots of info, lost the rudder position indicator etc.

They need to hire apple to make this thing work and be user friendly. Lots of things are hidden where you wouldn't think they would be. Right now I'm regretting my purchase. Hopefully as I learn the system more I'll be ok with it.

Where can I find instructions how to roll back to the latest version of LH 3?

Mats have you updated to the newer version of LH4? Raymarine did pull the LH4 update and they say that they have fixed the issues and made the newer update available.

I am still on LH3 and I have been holding back until I see reports that the teething issues have gone. I am simply wondering if you have the earlier version or if even the latest version is still beset with problems.

The previous versions are on the current version page - just choose the tab for previous version lower down. Software Updates for Raymarine Axiom Multifunction Displays | Marine Electronics by Raymarine

I upgraded after they said they had fixed the problems. It mostly worked fine but kept freezing my Ray260e VHF because it wouldn't see it and send it the position for DSC. Downgraded and now fine, waiting a bit till it is sorted.

Hi I have uppgradera to the v4:082 todayI will sail roughly 6 hours tomorrow and try it out. I have used version 4:077 for some weeks now it’s better but my auotpilot ACU 400 drop connection several times per day so it’s still very unreliable ( with v3 this never happen)

After a lot of testing I have come to the conclusion that LH 4 has difficulty handling unknown data. I have an Albacombi connected to my seatalk NG network and I also had it with LH3 and then everything works, but all my problems disappear when I turn off the signaling for oil pressure and water temperature that the Albacombi is sending to my seatalk NG network, so I guess that my albacombi is sending some signaling that the LH 4 can't handle and that's why it crashes.

I'm using the latest version of LH4 on my Axiom+ and I'm in contact with the Raymarine support. Never saw a software with so many bugs, e.g.

- frozen overlay values in the display (e.g. clock or SOG, but the i70s shows the SOG that it gets from the Axiom)
- route ETA can not be calculated and is nearly always shown as --:--
- sometimes menus can not be closed because buttons are not working (only removing power to restart helped)
- not a bug but a missing feature: it's not possible to show the remaining distance of a route (for me one of the base feature that should be available in every navigation software)
- sometimes menu icons are shown in the half size and shown as plain squares without any graphic
- batttery voltage is shown as -- (but i70s is showing it)

And many more bugs... Support tells me that they never had these issues... I'm really wondering... and they told me to do a reset and reinstall the software. I did that, but without any improvement.

I'm not seeing any of those issues on my Axiom 12 Pro using latest lh version. Very odd

Hi. I wanted to add an update to this thread as I just installed a new Axiom 2 Pro 9” in April. Post install the Axiom 2 and everything else on the network was working fine. This was on LH 4.3.54. After about a month I was encouraged to update to LH 4.4.70 which I dI’d and soon after my Axiom lost a bunch of functionality eg, could not control the Autopilot, could not control the Fusion stereo, also my i70s no longer received GPS data from the Axiom Etc etc…
Did some troubleshooting onboard to find out only Axiom is having the connectivity issue, so removed my Axiom and took it to the dealer who tried in the shop and also couldn’t see other devices on the STNG network.
While this might be a hardware issue, the connectivity issues began after upgrading LH. I think LH4.3.54 maybe stable but not 4.4.70. Unless this is a hardware issue which I won’t know until the fall when I can send it to Raymarine. I just can’t be without a chartplotter the whole summer.
